A nineteenth-century novel by Fernán Caballero (pseudonym of Cecilia Böhl de Faber), published in 1857 with the subtitle Tres almas de Dios (Three Souls of God), in which a young, proud liberal deserts from the army and takes refuge in the estate of the most conservative and monarchist villager, but the two men's opposing views do not prevent them from experiencing the most generous hospitality in the dilapidated castle.
